One of the major challenges in business success is, ego. In my book I call it “reading your own press releases.”  Once you have some level of success, you want to believe that you are the only reason you’re successful. Even in the case of Steve Jobs, he didn’t make Apple a success by himself. His team did.

Unfortunately, I can’t count the times I have been in meetings where I saw rational thinking and solid research replaced by ego decisions. If attendees to your meeting can’t check their egos at the door, don’t hold a meeting.
