If you are budgeting for 2014, plan to spend more money on advertising. Ad industry reports are predicting faster than expected growth in ad rates. Some of that is being driven by the Winter Olympics in Sochi, but some is the global impact of the expansion of mobile advertising (more on this in a later post). Look for a price increase of anywhere between 4 to 7%.
