Sharing videos on YouTube is now old school marketing. I mean, 72 hours of video are uploaded every minute and there are 800 million monthly visitors.

But during a recent talk, I asked how many people use YouTube as a marketing tool. Only a handful of people raised their hands. I asked attendees, what are they waiting for? The big boys have already stepped up their marketing via YouTube. Jimmy Fallon’s skit with Michelle Obama racked up more than 15 million views. That is five times the average audience of the “Tonight Show.

Could you create something that promotes your brand on YouTube? Yes. Just take a look at this fun video that promotes Coke, which was sent to me by one of my blog followers. More than 2.5 million people have watched it. Go figure. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KEBJmZL8G1E

By the way, I always appreciate comments and thoughts from my blog followers. Keep those cards and letters coming.
