I am a big fan of online video. I’ve run (and plan to run more) video banner campaigns that have had 2 to 3 times the click-thru rates of regular banners. When I use pre-roll video, the click-thru rate is even higher! The best news is online video-advertising rates continue to fall.

Prices on top-tier sites were down by up to 15% from 2011, estimates BrightRoll, a video-ad company. As the Wall St. Journal reported this week, this reflects two things. “First, the number of companies offering online video continues to rise. Therefore, the space available for ads—the inventory—is exploding.”

WSJ reported that of the 39 billion content videos viewed on the Web in December 2012, about 23% carried video ads, up from just 14% in 2011, according to comScore. Don’t delay, start using video in your online efforts today!
