I read with deep regret that Stephen R. Covey, author of “The Seven Habits of Highly Effective People,” died today at age 79, three months after a bicycle accident. As reported, in a statement sent to employees of his Utah consulting firm, the writer and motivational speaker died at a hospital in Idaho Falls, Idaho, from complications connected to the April accident. Covey’s pioneering book has been a central part of my consulting and speaking practice for years. I reference it often in my book, Powershift Marketing. If you haven’t read it, or if you haven’t reviewed it recently, take the time this week to do so. It’s full of practical and easy tips for empowering your employees to be the best they can be. Thanks, Mr. Covey, for a life well lived.
